Tracy Saff Dow

Doctor of Clinical Psychology

"I want to help you fall in love with yourself and your life!"

Dr. Tracy Saff Dow
Fall in love with yourself and your life? Sounds cheesy right? Not if you imagine how different things would be like if that were the case. Maybe you would see the world thru a lens of confidence where obstacles would be opportunities and fear would be trumped by excitement. Maybe overwhelming feelings would feel more manageable and gratitude would win over anger.

Life may feel hard right now especially if you feel like you are surviving instead of living.  Wherever you are in your journey, I understand that life isn’t linear. And sometimes we need a partner to help navigate through these twists and turns. You’re not meant to go it alone!

"It takes courage to reach out and participate in therapy."

I recognize that it takes courage to reach out and participate in therapy. It is especially challenging to sit in discomfort while transformation takes place. But anything hard is worth doing. The therapeutic relationship is paramount to change and I don’t take that role lightly. I have over 20 years of experience working with a variety of different populations and know how important it is to have someone you trust in your corner. I will fight for you and with you in this process, carrying some of the load while we work to eliminate the blind spots that keep you stuck. I view myself as a straight shooter who challenges you directly but in a supportive and non judgmental way. I use an eclectic approach to treatment tailoring it to the needs of each individual client.

I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from the University of Maryland. Following my undergraduate work I obtained a Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University where I worked with executives and team members to improve productivity and job satisfaction in the corporate environment.

I went on to earn a second Masters degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University in Tampa, Florida.  My Doctoral research focused on the correlation between eating disorders and substance abuse. My training has been broad and spanned a variety of settings including outpatient mental health clinics, inpatient hospitals, foster care, university counseling centers, jails, and courtrooms. I have trained extensively in trauma working with survivors of abuse; and as part of the TIRR program, I counseled soldiers who suffer with PTSD.

I view every day as a chance to grow and evolve professionally and personally. I have been trained as a Strategic Intervention Coach (Robbins/ Madanes- Tony Robbins coaching program) and am certified in a cutting edge trauma technique called ART- Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Additionally, I designed a program for schools focused on the importance of the father-daughter relationship and its role in creating strong female leaders.

Outside the office, I'm a mom of 2 and lead an active family lifestyle. I enjoy travel and spending time with my family and friends.
